Some artists treat their cover art like an afterthought, a different look for every drop with no thread connecting any of it. Prettifun is the opposite. Run through his catalog, Funhouse, Funhouse Deluxe, Pretti Loves U 2, Pretti, Man Of The Year and Scene, and you start to notice the same character staring back at you across every single one. A green skull with a heart shaped eye, dreadlocked, grinning through gritted teeth, popping up in different poses and different color treatments but never disappearing. That’s not a coincidence, that’s a mascot.

What makes it work is that the character never feels static. On Funhouse he’s surrounded by a full cast, a yellow clown, a purple horned devil, a red screaming head, all packed into a hand painted circus of balloons and stars. By the time you get to Funhouse Deluxe, the palette shifts into hot pink and electric yellow lightning bolts, and the same skull is mid scream with his hands thrown up, like the chaos from the first cover finally caught up to him. Pretti Loves U 2 hands him a heart shaped ray gun and drowns him in green and magenta psychedelia. Scene strips almost everything else away and zooms into just the skull’s face draped over a spoon, sitting inside a swirl of red veins and neon color trails. Same character, completely different energy every time.

The consistency isn’t just the mascot either. Every cover carries the Parental Advisory sticker as a design element instead of a legal afterthought, the acid wash background textures repeat throughout, and the title cards all use that same torn paper stamp treatment with bold black lettering. Even Pretti, which trades the full illustration for a graffiti style logo, keeps the same eye and mouth details baked into the lettering so it still reads as part of the family.

That’s the difference between an artist making covers and an artist building a world. Prettifun’s fans don’t need to see his name to know it’s him, the art tells them before the music even starts. In a scene where visual identity gets treated as disposable, that kind of consistency is what turns a catalog into a brand.
