There’s a version of Lil Yachty that a lot of people slept on for years the one with a sharp pen, a natural ear for soulful beats, and the kind of flow that sounds effortless no matter what’s underneath him. That version has been showing up more and more, and these six tracks are proof.

A Cold Sunday – Lil Yachty
This is where a lot of people started paying attention to the new Yachty. Built on a boom bap instrumental with a jazz riff and chopped-up guitar samples, Cold Sunday sounds exactly like its title. Reflective, smooth, and over before you’re ready for it to end.
The Secret Recipe – Lil Yachty & J. Cole
Two of rap’s most technically sharp MCs over a soulful beat this one delivered on every level. Yachty more than held his own next to Cole, which for a lot of listeners was the moment they had to take him seriously as a rapper.
Silver Lining – Lil Yachty & Sauce Walka
A nearly drum-less, soulful production that lets both rappers breathe. Yachty sounds at home here introspective but still confident. Sauce Walka brings the energy and the two complement each other well.
Triceratops – Action Bronson ft. Lil Yachty & Paul Wall
Three completely different rappers, one wild beat produced by Daringer, and somehow it works. Yachty’s verse is arguably the standout — smooth, flex-heavy, and delivered with the kind of ease that only comes from an artist locked into their sound.
We Ball Forever – Lil Yachty
A reminder that Yachty isn’t interested in the noise. While rap was busy with beefs and drama, he dropped this focused, soulful, and forward-looking.
Cry Me A River – Lil Yachty
Introspective and layered, this one showcases the wordplay that Yachty has been sharpening since 2023. The production gives him room to breathe and he makes the most of it.
The soulful pocket suits Yachty in a way that not many producers and fans expected. Every one of these tracks makes the case that this should be a permanent lane for him — not a phase. Hopefully he keeps going.
